If we are truly
blessed in life we will come across a very special once in a life time horse. I was lucky to have him be my very
first horse. TC Painted Jet aka "PJ" taught me more than I could ever explain here and I will forever
be in debt to him for all he has given to me.
The first time PJ and I tried showing
at a breed show we met Paula and for a 6-pack of beer she helped clip and band PJ so we would look the part. Scared
to death we went into that first class and we heard our names called second in the first class under the first judge.
The rest of the weekend we were first in every class under every judge and ended up with 35 out of 36 first places.
I still have those awards proudly displayed in my living room. Paula has been by our side guiding the way ever since
and for that I am also grateful.
In our first trip to a National show we came home with
every single National Championship in driving as well as English Pleasure and a reserve high point award. The very first
time I asked PJ to compete for an APHA Zone buckle he gave me not just one but two and he beat the World Champion
to do it.
PJ now rules the roast here at the Lazy PJ Ranch watching over the broodmares, the show horses,
and our new arrivals. He has even taught several young horse crazy girls to ride.
